Ferry Building Marketplace
Enjoy a signature San Francisco experience by visiting the Ferry Building. The venue is a people’s marketplace simultaneously catering to residents and travelers alike. The Ferry Building is a community of local farmers, artisan producers and independently owned and operated food businesses. In this way, they promote world-class food and wine in a central destination, complete with a beautiful waterfront location. Famed regional producers such as Cowgirl Creamery Artisan Cheese Shop, Oak Hill Farm of Sonoma, Ferry Plaza Seafood, Hog Island Oyster Company and Scharffen Berger Chocolate Makers are some of the anchor stores that make this collaboration so special.

San Francisco’s Heritage Hall
Fairmont San Francisco’s Heritage Hall chronicles its first 100 years as the centerpiece of The City by the Bay. Located right off of the lobby in the hallway leading to the Tower Elevators, this Centennial tribute is made up of over 100 images, complete with captions chronicling the unique history of the hotel and city itself. Viewing the images and captions will likely take less than an hour.

San Francisco Food
The San Francisco dining scene is one of the best in the country. From hearty comfort food to Michelin-starred fine dining, there are restaurants for every palate.

Stroll Through the City
Take an architectural walking tour of one of San Francisco’s exclusive neighborhoods and enjoy the famed Victorians and Edwardians for which the city is known.

North Beach
For an authentically local evening experience, a cable car ride to North Beach is highly recommended. Riding the cable car line accessible right outside the front of the hotel (The Powell and Hyde and Powell and Mason Cable Car Lines are both accessible from the rear entrance of the hotel), one can head to the famed Italian district to experience some of the city’s most appealing restaurants, cafes and people watching. In addition to an extensive list of lively restaurants (Rose Pistola, Michaelangelo Café and Comstock Saloon to name a few), San Francisco music and theater options are abundant. The most talked about of these of tickets is Beach Blanket Babylon, a light-hearted musical revue that consistently updates its material to focus on current political events.
