Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, a global leader in the hospitality industry, is proud to announce that 2007 will mark its centenary. Fairmont invites its guests to join the celebrations with a series of events and programs, debuting in April and continuing throughout the year.  From ''Open Door'' days where guests tour public and private rooms escorted by local doyennes to a special 1907 Centennial classic tea, travellers can enjoy the company's rich tradition of hospitality.

With the opening of the landmark Fairmont San Francisco and New York's The Plaza in 1907, Fairmont was born. Over a century, Fairmont properties, located in the most unforgettable locations in the world, have hosted the rich and famous, kings and queens, Presidents and Prime Ministers and stars of the stage and screen. Many of Fairmont's iconic properties have been integral in the development of cities, had an impact on the course of history or even altered the social fabric. In fact, many are often deemed attractions in and of themselves. Creating an environment that fosters cherished and lasting memories has long been a hallmark of the company. 

In commemorating a century, Fairmont looks back on a rich history but also forward to an exciting future, fuelled by growth of the portfolio, focused on North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

We're Opening our Doors
Beginning with The Fairmont San Francisco in April, one landmark hotel per month will host a one-day series of historic guided tours for guests and community members. These exclusive ''Open Doors'' events will also be held at The Fairmont Hamilton Princess in Bermuda, The Fairmont Empress in Victoria, British Columbia, Boston's Fairmont Copley Plaza, The Fairmont Royal York in Toronto, The Fairmont Banff Springs and London's legendary Savoy, among others.

Take time for tea
One tradition that has not faded in popularity since the turn of the last century is the beloved ritual of Afternoon Tea. In honor of Fairmont's centennial, The Metropolitan Tea Company Ltd. has created a commemorative loose tea blend, which will be added to the selection of their custom blends currently available at all properties. The 1907 Centennial Tea is a blend of luxury black tea from India, Sri Lanka and China, a mix authentic to its name, consisting of those teas most often consumed back in 1907. The blend will be served in Fairmont dining outlets and will also be available for purchase in a limited-edition commemorative tea caddy available in Fairmont Stores and select dining outlets starting in April.          
Cheers to a Century
Fairmont's legendary lounges and bars surely hold some of the more interesting stories and secrets of the last 100 years. Sit back and enjoy one of six centennial cocktails inspired by a century of memorable moments. These libations, including The French 100 and the Cosmo 2K, featuring Belvedere Vodka and Grand Marnier Centenaire are worthy of the 100-year wait.

A Special Anniversary, all Packaged up
Starting in April, participating Fairmont hotels will offer exclusive $1,907 packages, perfect for a weekend getaway, or for marking your own special anniversary or occasion.  Inclusions vary hotel-to-hotel, with fine dining experiences, plush suites, spa treatments, sommelier classes, historic tours, luxe amenities and more on offer.
