Seasoned Travelers Say Yes to Fairmont in Top Reader’s Polls

Guests of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts can experience some of the world’s best places to stay after legendary publications Condé Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure magazine named a number of the luxury operator’s properties among the best in the world based on the results of their annual readers’ polls.

Now in its 18th year, the coveted Condé Nast Traveler Gold List celebrates the crème de la crème in luxury hotels, resorts and cruise lines from across the globe and for 2013, 13 Fairmont properties have been named to the prestigious list, with two achieving Platinum Circle status after receiving the recognition for five consecutive years.

Across Canada, The Fairmont Chateau Whistler, The Fairmont Waterfront and Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver, Fairmont Vancouver Airport, Ottawa’s Fairmont Chateau Laurier were recognized as was The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in the Canadian Rockies which received Platinum Circle status.   In the U.S., The Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui was also acknowledged with Platinum Circle status while The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii and New York’s The Plaza, a Fairmont Managed Hotel were recognized, earning high praise from readers for their unrivalled locations and thoughtful and attentive service levels. London’s The Savoy, a Fairmont Managed Hotel and Kenya’s Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club were named to the list for another year alongside Mexico’s Fairmont Mayakoba. Telluride, Colorado’s Fairmont Heritage Place Franz Klammer Lodge was a first time recipient of the prestigious award, that sees properties ranked through Condé Nast Traveler’s extensive reader survey which asks respondents to rate hotels on service and quality issues related to accommodation, food and beverage, spa and business services as well as hotel ambience.

Travel + Leisure magazine has also recognized a number of Fairmont properties on its prestigious “T+L 500” list. For 2013, 11 Fairmont Hotels & Resorts made the annual list of World’s Best Hotels, including Fairmont properties in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Mexico and Kenya.

Two of Fairmont’s Kenyan properties were also named to the coveted “World’s Top 50”, including the Fairmont Mara Safari Club in the Masai Mara, rated 20th overall, and the history-rich Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club, taking 46th position.

T+L ranked Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu in Quebec and The Fairmont Chateau Whistler as top resorts in Canada and The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise as a peak luxury resort in the Canadian Rockies.  Fairmont Monte Carlo and The Savoy were named among the very best in Europe.  The Fairmont Acapulco Princess and Fairmont Mayakoba were identified by readers as two of the top resorts in Latin America and The Fairmont Kea Lani found itself among the top resorts in Hawaii.

Recipients of Travel + Leisure’s annual “World’s Best Awards” were ranked highest through a reader survey where respondents were asked to rate hotels  on five characteristics rooms/facilities, location, service, restaurants/food and value.
