Brand Has 10 Hotels Appearing on Travel + Leisure Magazine’s Top 100 List

TORONTO, July 11, 2011 – Travel + Leisure Magazine has recognized ten Fairmont Hotels & Resorts on its prestigious “T+L 100” list for 2011, including Fairmont properties in the U.S., Canada, and Kenya.

Two of Fairmont’s Kenyan properties were also named as over all “World’s Best”, including the Fairmont Mara Safari Club in the Masai Mara, rated seventh overall, and the history-rich Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club in the area of Nanyuki, rated lucky number 13.

T+L rates Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club in Florida as a top resort in U.S./Canada and The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise as a peak luxury resort in the Canadian Rockies. The Fairmont Vancouver Airport landed among the top ten large city hotels in U.S./Canada and The Plaza in New York and The Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle also made appearances in the same category.

The Fairmont Acapulco Princess was listed a noteworthy 15th overall for top resorts in Mexico and The Fairmont Kea Lani and The Fairmont Orchid found themselves among the top resorts in Hawaii.

Made up of the top properties receiving the highest rankings in Travel + Leisure’s annual “World’s Best Awards” reader survey, respondents were asked to rate hotels  on five characteristics rooms/facilities, location, service, restaurants/food and value.
