Fairmont Olympic Hotel Offers Canadian Travelers A Dollar-For-Dollar Booking Option

With the current exchange rate from CAD to USD being the greatest deficit since 2004, the US is seeing an increasing decline in Canadian visitors. This is affecting tourism companies much sooner and more heavily than others due to the immediate drop in travelers coming south.

Fairmont Olympic Hotel, located in Seattle, is combating this issue with an exclusive stay offer specifically for their neighbors to the north. During the month of March, visitors coming from Canada can book rooms (available for stays through June) at the equivalent rate in CAD to USD, allowing Canadians to book at an “at par” rate. Reservations can be made by calling 206 621 1700, by email, or online. Valid I.D. with place of residence is required at check-in.

March through June is a great time to visit Seattle as well, with fewer tourists and many great events going on. Canadian visitors can now enjoy Washington Wine Month and Dine Around Seattle in March, Mariners’ season opener and the Cherry Blossom Festival in April, as well as Seattle Beer Week and the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) in May.

If driving from Vancouver to Seattle, Canadian tourists can also stop by the Seattle Premium Outlets for a quick shopping spree. This fashion outlet mall has 30 stores offering a “Show Your Canadian Passport and Save” promotion, where Canadians can show their residential identification and receive exclusive discounts.
